I deeply apologize that I have been more or less neglecting party duties this past week, but my classes started up again, and I'm trying to balance my schedule.
Anyway, it is time to once again select an Ataman.
For the next month, I would like to keep my post as Ataman. I would love to say that during the past month I accomplished a third of what I intended, but that is not entirely true. In the congressional elections, we got through only two congressmen, though I consider that to be a good result since we challenged the Communists and FRP in the populated regions, instead of going for candidacies in the non-populated regions. By the total amount of votes, we got third place in the congressional elections out of all the parties present.
For the presidency, I took the chance presented to me, and supported our incumbent president, romool. I realize that there may be some in the Party unhappy with my decision; I apologize, but, with the way it happened, I had no time to discuss it. I believe that The Cossacks put forward a presidential candidate who shares many of our ideals and thoughts on government, although there are those who feel strongly about him. I would also say that it is thanks to romool's victory in the presidential race that our falling membership numbers have been reversed.
What you should expect for the future month:
- I am not the same type of leader as Moredan; I cannot keep constantly writing about my beliefs in order to entice people into joining. However, The Cossacks do need an editorial wing - we have too few articles in the media. I will put my effort into establishing one.
- In order to increase our chances during the elections, I am going to try to form a coalition with other minor parties. The way I want this coalition to work, as far as I know, has not really been tried in eRussia yet, but I will say that what I am really aiming for is to absorb several of the smaller parties into The Cossacks. This will be done carefully, making sure that those parties have something to contribute to The Cossacks, and that they do as little as possible to ruin The Cossacks good image.
I thank you for your time. It has been a pleasure working for you so far and I hope to continue to do so.
